Several US lawmakers are mourning the death of Sayfollah Musallet, a Palestinian American tragically killed by illegal Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank. They are urgently calling on the State Department to launch a thorough investigation into this grave incident.
Representative Rashida Tlaib took to X, stating, "An American was beaten to death by Israeli settlers backed by the military. Instead of pursuing justice for Sayfollah, our government continues to send billions to prop up the apartheid system that killed him... Arms Embargo Now." Her strong words highlight deep concerns about US foreign policy.
Representative Jerry Nadler expressed his horror at Musallet's "brutal murder." He found reports deeply disturbing that settlers allegedly blocked ambulances and that Israeli army soldiers present reportedly failed to intervene. Nadler stressed that "violence in the West Bank has reached epidemic levels."
Nadler, who previously introduced the West Bank Violence Prevention Act, emphasized the critical need to address the surging aggression. His ongoing efforts aim to prevent further acts of violence in the volatile region.
Representative Delia C. Ramirez noted that Musallet is the sixth Palestinian American "brutally murdered" in the occupied West Bank since October 7, 2023. She insisted, "As we mourn Saif, the US State Dept. must launch an immediate investigation... There must be accountability."
Echoing these demands, Representative Ayanna Pressley pointed out that Musallet was the second American killed in the occupied West Bank this year. She urged the State Department to "lead an immediate investigation and root out settler violence once and all. There must be accountability."
