Post by: Abdulrahmon Mubarak on Jun 27, 2025, 01:12 PM
Saudi Arabia has provided a $30 million financial injection to the Palestinian Authority, aiming to alleviate a severe financial crisis. This crisis is largely attributed to Israeli policies designed to weaken the Authority. The aid delivery underscores the Kingdom's unwavering support for the Palestinian people.
The assistance was officially handed over in Amman, Jordan, to Palestinian Minister of Finance, Omar Al-Bitar, by Mohammed Mounis, the acting chargé d'affaires at the Saudi Embassy. This direct support signifies a tangible commitment from Riyadh.

Minister Al-Bitar expressed profound gratitude to Saudi Arabia for its consistent financial and political backing. He specifically thanked King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their leadership and their comprehensive support, encompassing political, economic, and humanitarian aid.

The minister emphasized that this $30 million contribution is crucial for the Palestinian Authority in navigating a financial predicament worsened by the actions of a far-right Israeli government. It provides much-needed relief to critical sectors.

According to the Palestine News Agency, this financial aid has been instrumental in sustaining the vital health and education sectors. It directly supports the operational costs of hospitals, procurement of medical supplies, school maintenance, and the salaries of essential medical and teaching staff.

Historically, Saudi Arabia's commitment to the Palestinian people has been substantial. Figures from the Saudi aid agency, KSrelief, indicate that the Kingdom's total support over the years has exceeded $5.3 billion, funding a remarkable 289 projects.
