Title: Saudi Arabia Leads Peace Push, Dispatches Envoy To India Pakistan
Post by: Suyuti1 on May 12, 2025, 10:44 PM
Saudi Arabia leads peace efforts between India and Pakistan, dispatching a special envoy to both nations amid rising tensions. This move marks the Kingdom as a key diplomatic force in defusing the recent military escalation in the region effectively.

The Kingdom worked to contain the fallout from a deadly attack in Indian-administered Kashmir, which triggered cross-border hostilities. Saudi Arabia's proactive diplomacy paved the way for a ceasefire agreement announced on May 10 successfully.

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan initiated contact with Indian and Pakistani counterparts, urging restraint and emphasizing the importance of resolving differences through dialogue. This groundwork helped reduce tensions between the two nations.

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir visited New Delhi and Islamabad, marking Saudi Arabia as the first nation to engage both capitals directly during the crisis. The Kingdom's mediation efforts were widely welcomed by both sides positively.

The ceasefire was declared through broader diplomatic coordination, including the US, but Saudi Arabia's engagement was instrumental in shaping the outcome. Riyadh's balanced ties with India and Pakistan positioned it as a trusted intermediary in the peace process.
