In a significant address at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting in Istanbul, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan strongly reiterated the Kingdom's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.

He underscored Saudi Arabia's continuous efforts to end the war in Gaza, alleviate the humanitarian crisis, and unite Arab and Islamic stances on the conflict. The Prince firmly advocated for an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Prince Faisal also condemned recent Israeli strikes on Iran, calling them a "blatant" violation of international law and a threat to Iranian sovereignty. He emphasized that such attacks jeopardize regional stability.

The Foreign Minister urged an immediate halt to military operations, advocating for de-escalation and a return to negotiations between Iran and the international community.

The OIC meeting, hosted by Turkiye, marked the start of its presidency, with Prince Faisal congratulating Turkiye on its new role. He also acknowledged Cameroon's contributions during its previous term.

Beyond the Israeli-Iranian tensions, Prince Faisal reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's commitment to resolving the Yemen crisis, supporting a comprehensive political solution to restore peace and stability in the country.

What do you think are the biggest challenges to achieving a lasting peace in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict?
