The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has announced that Muslims in Nigeria may need to continue fasting on Sunday, as the moon signaling the end of Ramadan has not been sighted yet. This decision was made under the leadership of Sultan Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar, with a statement issued by Secretary-General Prof. Is-haq Oloyede on Saturday.
Muslims are encouraged to search for the Shawwal crescent on the 29th of Ramadan. If the crescent is sighted according to traditional moon sighting and verification standards, Sunday, March 30, 2025, will be declared the 1st of Shawwal and the day of Eid-al-Fitr.
