Title: Jordan Summons Suspects Hiding Muslim Brotherhood’s Secret Assets
Post by: Abdulrahmon Mubarak on Jul 31, 2025, 06:12 PM
Jordanian authorities have started questioning people accused of hiding money and property linked to the banned Muslim Brotherhood group.

This action comes after a one-month grace period, which ended on June 14. The grace period allowed individuals to report and return the group's assets without facing legal action.

Some people came forward during the grace period and admitted they held money or property for the Brotherhood. These assets were later transferred to the Associations Support Fund under Jordan's Ministry of Social Development.

Authorities said those who refused to confess may face criminal charges, including money laundering and breach of trust, especially if solid financial evidence is found.

In April, Jordan officially banned the group after uncovering dangerous plots involving missile building and weapon storage, posing threats to national safety.

By mid-July, Jordan had seized more than 30 million Jordanian dinars ($42.3 million) connected to the group's financial operations at home and abroad.
