The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) has launched the second phase of its groundbreaking military initiative, Competence, in Libreville, Gabon. This program forms a vital component of the coalition's comprehensive strategy to enhance the capabilities of special operations forces across member nations.Under this initiative, participants undergo intensive field training, live-fire exercises, and tactical simulations designed to reflect real-world combat conditions. These activities aim to strengthen the operational readiness of special forces in responding effectively to terrorist threats, complex ambushes, and hostage rescue missions. The training also emphasizes teamwork, precision, and adaptability across different terrains and conflict scenarios.
The Competence initiative stands among 15 strategic programs launched by the IMCTC to promote regional and international collaboration in counterterrorism. Through shared training systems and expertise exchange, the coalition seeks to unify operational standards and reinforce global security frameworks against evolving extremist threats.
In addition to its military programs, the coalition actively pursues ideological prevention efforts. Last month, it organized a seminar in the Maldives titled "Manifestations of Ideological Extremism in the Educational Environment." This event focused on strengthening intellectual awareness and promoting critical thinking within schools and community structures.
The seminar aimed to empower educators and community leaders to recognize early signs of radicalization and address its root causes. By fostering tolerance, moderation, and resilience, the coalition works to combat extremist ideologies before they manifest into violent actions.
Through its dual focus on tactical competence and ideological prevention, the IMCTC continues to build a robust framework for sustainable global security. Its initiatives underscore a holistic approach—where military strength and intellectual awareness jointly serve as powerful tools to safeguard peace, unity, and stability across the Islamic world and beyond.
