The Supreme Council for Shariah in Nigeria (SCSN) has announced its Vice President, Sheikh Dr. Bashir Aliyu Umar, as its new president. This announcement follows the passing of the former president, Sheikh Abdul Rasheed Hadiyatullah.
The SCSN mourns the great loss of Sheikh Hadiyatullah, a loss for Nigeria's entire Muslim community. Secretary General Ahmed announced Dr. Bashir Umar as the new president, appointed following the council's constitution, while praying for the deceased's forgiveness and paradise.
The SCSN unanimously confirmed Vice President Sheikh Dr. Bashir Aliyu Umar as its new President, expressing full confidence in his leadership and commitment to Shari'ah and justice. The Vice President position will be announced later. The Council seeks the Ummah's continued prayers and support.
