Youths in Gombe State have taken matters into their own hands by looting a truck carrying Ramadan palliatives reportedly donated by Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The incident occurred despite Seyi's efforts to provide support to the less privileged through his Ramadan feeding program, which has been met with criticism on social media.
Some have praised the initiative, while others, like Shamsuddeen Bala Mohammed, son of the Bauchi State Governor, have called for more sustainable empowerment programs, such as employment opportunities, business support, and skills training.
The looted truck was one of two allocated to Gombe State, containing 3,500 cartons of food items, including rice, sugar, oil, salt, and pasta. The incident has sparked rumors of sabotage by those who were not involved in the initial distribution exercise.
