Makka- Millions of Muslims travel to Saudi Arabia each year for Hajj. To support this huge event, Umm Al-Qura University is stepping up with new programs and research.
The university works closely with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 plan. It uses its people and knowledge to help make Hajj easier and safer for everyone involved.
Every year, it runs special training courses and field studies. These help raise the quality of services pilgrims receive during their journey.
One major project is the Licensing and Qualification Program. It has trained over 300,000 people to assist pilgrims, with lessons in 15 languages.
Other key efforts include training bus guides and offering help through the Rafid Al-Haramain program, which has involved thousands from 30 different groups.
To reach Muslims around the world, the university also translates important sermons into over 20 languages, reaching about 600 million people.
