The First Class Muslim Foundation has made a remarkable impact by mentoring and training over 350 Muslim graduates who achieved first-class honours across Nigerian universities. Over the past seven years, this initiative has provided valuable guidance to help these high-achieving graduates transition into successful professional and academic careers.
During the seventh edition of the M-First Series in Ikeja, Chairman of the Board of Incorporated Trustees, Dr. Sulaimon Ogunmuyiwa, announced that 51 fresh first-class graduates participated in the latest three-day programme. The event focused on helping them plan their career paths, strengthen their skills, and access opportunities for growth.
The M-First programme connects participants with industry experts who offer mentorship on goal setting, networking, and applying for scholarships. Graduates are encouraged to explore advanced studies or professional roles where they can make meaningful contributions to society. Many past beneficiaries have secured positions in top Nigerian companies and prestigious universities abroad.
Speaking at the event, Board Member and Managing Director of Omnicom Solutions Ltd., Mr. Faheed Olajide, urged graduates to prioritise service to humanity. He emphasised that education is key to building Nigeria's future and called for greater stakeholder investment in academic development.
One of the participants, Haruna Abdullahi, a Biochemistry graduate from Kogi State University, shared the challenges first-class holders face, including unrealistic job expectations. He encouraged students to see education as a valuable asset rather than a waste.
Through initiatives like the M-First Series, the Foundation continues to inspire excellence, strengthen leadership skills, and prepare graduates to positively shape their communities.
