Italy and Palestine have joined voices in calling for a fresh political push to achieve lasting peace through a two-state solution. Leaders from both sides stressed that humanitarian aid alone cannot solve the ongoing conflict without genuine political progress.

During official talks in Rome, Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani met with Palestinian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Varsen Aghabekyan. Both leaders emphasized that peace requires more than temporary relief — it demands a solid political framework that addresses the root causes of the crisis.

The ministers highlighted that humanitarian support remains vital, but aid without a political path forward leaves millions trapped in uncertainty. Their message was clear: real stability will only come when negotiations lead to a sustainable two-state solution where both peoples can coexist in peace and dignity.

Following their meeting at Italy's Foreign Ministry, the ministers visited Palestinian children receiving medical treatment in three hospitals across Rome. This humanitarian gesture underlined the importance of protecting the younger generation, who bear the heaviest burden of the conflict.

The leaders then held a joint press conference outside Gemelli Hospital. They called on the international community to support renewed dialogue and contribute to efforts that prioritize peace over division. Both sides stressed that delay will only deepen suffering and instability.

By standing together, Italy and Palestine sent a strong message: the world must not give up on the two-state solution, as it remains the most realistic path to lasting peace.
