Over 60,000 Nigerian pilgrims have joined millions of Muslims worldwide on the sacred plains of Arafat, marking the pivotal moment of Hajj 2025. This highly anticipated day, which fell on Thursday, June 5th (the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah), was dedicated to intense prayers and profound spiritual reflection.

As the faithful moved towards Arafat, a palpable sense of devotion filled the air. They chanted in unison, "Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik" (Here I am O Lord, answering your call), a powerful declaration of their submission to God. This very valley holds immense historical significance, as it was here, 1,446 years ago, that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) delivered his final sermon, advocating for equality and unity among all Muslims.

The sight of the pilgrims was a testament to humility and devotion. Men were clad in their simple, unstitched white garments known as ihram, symbolizing purity and equality before God. Women, dressed in modest Islamic attire, found their designated spots within the vast array of tents. These tents were meticulously organized by states and countries, with additional provisions made by Saudi authorities for pilgrims travelling with private tour operators.

The structured arrangements ensured that this immense gathering, comprising millions from every corner of the globe, could perform their rituals in an organized and spiritually enriching environment. This day on Arafat is considered the very heart of the Hajj, a time for deep supplication and seeking forgiveness.
