Makkah is known for the Grand Mosque, but it holds more than that. Many small historic mosques across the city played important roles in early Islam. Yet, most pilgrims don't know they exist.

Because of new buildings and busy crowds, these mosques are often hidden or ignored. People walk past without realizing they're near powerful places from the Prophet's time.

Professor Fawaz Al-Dahas from Umm Al-Qura University says mosques like Namirah in Arafat and Bay'ah in Mina are deeply meaningful. Important events like the Prophet's Farewell Sermon and the Ansar's pledge happened there.

He also mentioned Al-Rayah Mosque, where the Prophet's banner was raised, and Al-Hudaibiya Mosque, the site of a famous Qur'anic treaty. These places are still standing but rarely visited.

Hajj expert Mohammed Al-Joud added that Al-Khayf and Al-Kabsh Mosques carry spiritual lessons. They connect today's pilgrims to the Prophets and stories of obedience and sacrifice.

Experts agree that more effort is needed to teach people about these mosques. Visiting them can add meaning to Hajj and help pilgrims better understand Islam's deep history.
