Saudi-American artist Reef Loretto blends heritage and emotion through music. Though now based in Los Angeles, his sound is deeply rooted in Dhahran, where he grew up surrounded by family, radio waves from Bahrain, and early digital tools.
Reef's musical journey began in childhood with piano lessons and family jam sessions. He started writing original songs and recording them on his computer after eighth grade, driven by a deep passion for creativity.
Despite limited access to equipment in Dhahran, he found early support at Desert Designs, a creative space run by his uncle and aunt. Their encouragement and music shaped his early style.
Loretto grew up listening to rock, rap, and Arabic radio. His younger sister Ruby now helps him stay updated with emerging trends and heartfelt music styles.
His signature sound is ambient, reflective, and emotional. It begins with keyboard textures and unfolds like a memory in motion.
Recently, Reef represented Saudi Arabia at Japan's World Expo, performing with artists from Japan and Saudi Arabia. He values collaboration rooted in humility and cultural respect.
