NDLEA operatives arrest Ihensekhien Miracle Obehi at Port Harcourt Airport for attempting to smuggle 2.523 kilograms of cocaine to Iran, using deceptive tactics to evade detection initially.
Obehi, a non-Muslim, disguised herself in a hijab to avoid detection while boarding a Qatar Airways flight to Iran via Doha, showcasing her desperation to conceal her illicit activities somehow.
NDLEA officers discovered cocaine hidden in her private parts, handbag, and ingested pellets in her stomach, exposing her elaborate smuggling attempt and raising concerns about airport security.
After her arrest, Obehi was placed under excretion observation and eventually expelled the ingested pellets over several days, providing evidence of her guilt and smuggling methods used.
The NDLEA emphasized that the arrest is part of its efforts to dismantle drug trafficking networks, highlighting the agency's commitment to exposing and combating the increasingly deceptive tactics used by couriers.
