Saudi Arabia is taking a bold step to future-proof its workforce by launching a national AI upskilling program targeting 100,000 citizens. Spearheaded by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and aligned with the Saudi Data and AI Authority's vision, this initiative forms part of a broader plan to train 1 million Saudis in advanced AI and data skills. The program aims to equip participants with the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to thrive in a technology-driven economy.

The program is delivered in partnership with Incorta, a leading software development company, through the National eLearning Center. It is designed to be inclusive, prioritizing youth and women, and provides a structured learning path with practical projects. By combining online courses, certifications, and real-world applications, the initiative ensures participants gain both theoretical understanding and practical expertise in AI.

Participants can expect multiple learning tracks, including Foundations of Data for AI, Champions of Data, and AI Masterclass, along with executive programs in collaboration with Gartner, Wipro, and Google. The first cohort of 50–75 students will launch in early 2026, offering certifications, internships, and potential full-time roles. Exceptional students will also have opportunities for summer internships in the US, further enhancing their global exposure.

The program emphasizes hands-on application through Vision 2030 Hackathons that tackle national priorities such as renewable energy and industrial efficiency. By solving real-world challenges, participants contribute directly to the Kingdom's economic and technological advancement while sharpening critical problem-solving skills.

Senior officials highlight the program's strategic value. Osama El-Kady, CEO of Incorta, emphasizes preparing Saudis for the AI-driven future, while Safa Al-Rashed of MCIT stresses inclusive growth and sustainable economic development. Noha Rizk, CMO of Incorta, envisions the initiative as a global model for people-centered AI development.

With AI adoption widely embraced in the region—over 80% of Saudi and UAE employees view it positively—this program positions Saudi Arabia as a regional leader in AI education and workforce readiness. University pilots begin in late 2025, with the first official cohort and executive programs rolling out in early to mid-2026, marking a major milestone in the Kingdom's Vision 2030 objectives.
