Riyadh Introduces Digital Platform For Citizens To Buy Land

Riyadh has launched a new online platform designed to make residential land ownership easier for Saudi citizens. The Real Estate Balance Platform, introduced by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, allows residents to submit applications for affordable plots directly through a secure digital system.

The initiative follows earlier directives from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to stabilize the property sector and expand access to affordable housing. By providing structured opportunities to buy land, the program is expected to strengthen real estate development in the capital.

Officials announced that between 10,000 and 40,000 residential plots will be made available every year for the next five years. Each plot will be priced at no more than 1,500 riyals ($400) per square meter, making it accessible to middle-income citizens.

Eligibility is limited to Saudi citizens who are married or over the age of 25, have lived in Riyadh for at least three years, and do not own other property. Applications must be submitted online before October 23 to be considered.

Successful applicants are required to build on their land within 10 years. During this period, resale or transfer of ownership is restricted, except for mortgage purposes tied to construction financing. This ensures that the program supports genuine housing development rather than speculative resale.

The Royal Commission stressed that the platform tawazoun.rcrc.gov.sa is the only official channel for applications. Citizens are advised to avoid dealing with intermediaries, and updates will be provided only through official RCRC communication channels.
