Former U.S. President Donald Trump revealed significant progress in his proposed roadmap to end the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. According to Trump, a withdrawal plan has been presented to both parties, and Israel has agreed to the initial step outlined. He emphasized that once Hamas confirms the terms, a ceasefire will be "immediately effective," paving the way for a critical hostage and prisoner exchange.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump shared details of the negotiation process, stating that Israel's agreement to the initial withdrawal line had already been communicated to Hamas. "When Hamas confirms, the ceasefire will be immediately effective, the hostages and prisoner exchange will begin, and we will create the conditions for the next phase of withdrawal," he wrote. He further described the plan as a pathway to ending what he called a "3,000-year catastrophe," signaling his ambition to achieve a historic peace breakthrough.

Trump also announced on Friday that Hamas had shown willingness for a "lasting peace," a development he described as a turning point in the decades-long conflict. He urged Israel to "immediately stop the bombing of Gaza," stressing the importance of de-escalation to build trust and enable humanitarian relief.

Despite the diplomatic optimism, violence continued on the ground. Within hours of Trump's announcement, Israeli airstrikes targeted multiple locations in Gaza, killing at least 20 people.

Gaza's Ministry of Health reported that the death toll rose significantly within 24 hours, with at least 66 people killed and 250 injured by Saturday.

The contrasting developments highlight the fragile nature of the ceasefire efforts. While Trump's plan represents a potential step toward peace, the ongoing violence underscores the immense challenges that remain before a sustainable resolution can be achieved.
