The phone discussion followed a significant visit by Iranian President Masood Pezeshkian to Pakistan. He spent two days in Islamabad, ending his trip on Sunday. His visit came shortly after a serious 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran.

Pakistan used the occasion to publicly support Iran's right to develop nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. It stressed that such efforts must follow the rules of the United Nations Charter and international law.

Islamabad also backed Iran's right to defend itself against attacks from Israel. This position shows Pakistan's desire to support its neighbor while balancing relations with major world powers like the United States. The country continues to push for dialogue and peaceful solutions in the region.
