Qatar has called on the United Nations Security Council to take urgent action against Israel, accusing its leaders of being driven by "bloodthirsty extremists." The remarks were made by Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani during a session in New York.

Al-Thani assured the council that Qatar remains committed to its role as a mediator, seeking to secure a ceasefire in Gaza. He stressed that his nation would not hesitate in continuing diplomatic and humanitarian efforts aimed at stopping the ongoing bloodshed.

The Qatari leader condemned Israel for launching attacks on residential neighborhoods, which included schools and diplomatic residences. He described the assault as a clear violation of international law and the sovereignty of a UN member state.

He further criticized Israel for showing little concern for the lives of hostages still held in Gaza. According to Al-Thani, such actions only prove that Israeli leadership disregards both human rights and the principles of peace.

Qatar, he added, has been working tirelessly to save innocent lives through dialogue and mediation. However, the recent strikes, including those near Doha, have forced his country to reconsider the risks of its efforts.

In his closing remarks, Al-Thani urged the global community not to remain silent. He warned that Israel's extremist-driven policies have "gone beyond any borders" and represent a major test for international justice and peace.
