Qatar held a solemn funeral procession in Doha for six people who lost their lives in a recent Israeli attack. The strike targeted Hamas leadership in the Qatari capital, killing five members of the group along with a Qatari security officer. The incident has drawn strong reactions from Qatar's leadership and the wider international community.

Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani personally attended the funeral prayers, which took place at the Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab Mosque. His presence signaled the importance of the event and the country's support for the victims' families.

Among the dead were Humam al-Hayya, the son of senior Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya, his office director Jihad Labad, and three bodyguards: Abdullah Abdul Wahid, Moamen Hassouna, and Ahmad Abdulmalik. Corporal Badr Saad Al-Dosari, a Qatari security personnel, was also killed during the attack.

Qatar's Interior Ministry expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims. The ministry also confirmed that steps are being taken to strengthen security and protect citizens and residents from further threats.

The Qatari government described the strike as a cowardly act and a serious violation of international law. Officials stressed that Qatar will not accept what it called reckless Israeli aggression against its land and people.

Qatar has played a key role in mediating efforts, alongside Egypt and the United States, to bring an end to the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza. The conflict has already claimed more than 64,700 lives since October 2023.
