A U.S.-based human rights agency reports that more than 650 people have died in Iran during the first week of a massive Israeli bombing campaign. The Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) disclosed on Friday that 657 individuals were killed and 2,037 injured in nationwide airstrikes.

HRANA, which relies on a broad network of informants and public sources, indicated that the deceased include at least 263 civilians and 164 military personnel, with 230 fatalities yet to be identified. This vital information emerges as the Iranian government refrains from publishing daily casualty figures.

The agency also documented damage to civilian infrastructure. This includes a projectile striking a children's hospital in Tehran, though thankfully, no injuries were reported there. A fire station in Ilam province was damaged, and an Israeli attack ignited a large fire at a car factory in western Iran.

Israel maintains its strikes are aimed at preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, viewing this as an existential threat. The intensity of the conflict continues to escalate, raising international concerns.

Amidst these escalating tensions, Iran has vowed to cease all talks with the United States. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated that negotiations would not occur as long as Israeli aggression against the country persists, labeling the U.S. a "partner to Israeli crime."

This stance underscores Iran's firm position: "Americans want to negotiate and have sent messages several times, but we clearly said that as long as this aggression doesn't stop, there's no place for talk of dialogue," Araqchi told state television.
