The group argues this policy favors one religion, excluding others in the secular education system. They highlight the lack of similar federal boards for other religious or cultural studies in Nigeria.

The petition points out the absence of transparent curriculum moderation and legislative backing for NBAIS's new status. They warn of potential demands from other groups, leading to fragmented certification and policy issues.

The National Prayer Altar demands the immediate reversal of the NBAIS certificate equivalence. They call for a declaration affirming WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, and NBTE as the sole bodies for academic progression.

Over 100 religious and academic leaders signed the petition. They insist on a universal, secular framework for any cultural or religious certification seeking national equivalence in Nigeria.
