The Lagos State Chapter of the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has made a strong appeal to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and Caleb University management. This appeal concerns the alleged victimization of Muslim female candidates who wear the hijab during the ongoing 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Reports from the Caleb University CBT centre indicate that Muslim candidates are being forced to remove their hijabs before being allowed to sit for the examination. MURIC describes this development as "unconstitutional and unethical."

MURIC's appeal aims to address this issue and protect the rights of Muslim candidates to wear the hijab during the examination.
