King Abdullah II of Jordan and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman recently engaged in a critical discussion concerning the escalating Iran-Israel conflict. Their conversation highlighted the severe repercussions of the current regional tensions, emphasizing the urgent need for de-escalation.

During their Monday call, both leaders stressed the imperative of intensified coordination. Their shared goal is to "extinguish the fires of conflict" not only in the Gaza Strip but also to alleviate the ongoing strains stemming from Israeli actions against Iran.

A key point of their discussion was the advocacy for peaceful dialogue and negotiation. They called for political solutions to regional issues that strictly adhere to international law, ensuring security and stability across the volatile Middle East.

King Abdullah II particularly underscored that lasting peace in the region remains unattainable without a just and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian issue. He firmly reiterated support for a two-state solution as the foundational path forward.

This diplomatic push comes amidst a significant escalation, with the Iran-Israel conflict intensifying following recent U.S. strikes on three Iranian nuclear sites. Tel Aviv and Tehran have been exchanging attacks for over eleven days, dangerously increasing the risk of a full-scale regional war.

The joint call from Jordan and Oman reflects a growing regional concern for stability. Their diplomatic efforts aim to prevent further escalation and pave the way for a return to negotiation, safeguarding the broader Middle East from devastating consequences.
