In a rare and historic step, the Katsina State Government has included Christian clerics in its plans to promote unity and tackle insecurity. The state will now provide monthly stipends to pastors, encouraging them to continue offering prayers for peace, safety, and progress.

The announcement was made by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Katsina State Chapter, confirming Governor Malam Dikko Umar Radda's decision. This move is seen as a strong signal of religious inclusivity and mutual respect among different faiths in the Muslim-majority state.

In addition to the stipends, Governor Radda also approved the recruitment of Christian Religious Studies (CRS) teachers into public schools. This long-awaited decision meets a major request from the Christian community, aiming to boost the moral and academic development of Christian students.

CAN Secretary, Dr. Musa Daniel Danladi, speaking for State Chairman Very Rev. Fr. Richard Shuaibu Liti, praised the governor's initiative. He noted that teaching CRS in schools will help shape disciplined, value-driven young citizens who can contribute positively to society.

Dr. Musa expressed deep appreciation for the stipends to pastors, saying the gesture will inspire clergy members to remain dedicated in their prayers for the state. He also voiced hope that this policy will continue beyond the current administration.

The association encouraged qualified Christians to apply for the CRS teaching positions through the state's online application portal, urging them to be part of building a peaceful and morally upright future for Katsina State.
