Jordanian medical teams are playing a vital role in providing urgent healthcare for Palestinians in Gaza, as humanitarian needs remain extremely high. On Sunday, specialists carried out a highly complex surgery on a 60-year-old patient at a Jordanian field hospital in the southern Gaza Strip.

The patient was suffering from a severe humerus fracture, complicated by major tissue damage and missing bone. According to hospital officials, the difficult procedure required the expertise of orthopedic surgeons, operating staff, and anesthesia specialists working together.

During the operation, surgeons carefully removed infected and dead tissue, stabilized the bone with surgical plates and screws, and used grafts taken from the pelvis and fibula to close the gap. These advanced techniques are expected to give the patient a much greater chance of recovery and long-term healing.

Family members of the patient expressed deep gratitude to King Abdullah II of Jordan and commended the dedication of the Jordanian medical staff, who continue to serve under very challenging circumstances. Their work has been described as a lifeline for civilians suffering amid the conflict.

The field hospital in Gaza, which began operations in August, is offering services across multiple medical specialties. It was established to strengthen the overwhelmed Palestinian health sector and to provide ongoing emergency and surgical care.

Jordan has been one of the leading countries providing humanitarian relief since October 2023, supporting Palestinians through field hospitals, food convoys, and airdrops. Its continuous efforts highlight a strong commitment to saving lives and easing suffering in Gaza.
