Japan and Australia have joined voices in calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza while opposing any military escalation in the Middle East. Their joint statement came after a high-level meeting between foreign and defense ministers in Tokyo, reflecting growing global concern about the worsening humanitarian crisis.

The ministers strongly emphasized the need for a massive and unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid to reach civilians trapped in Gaza. They noted that famine-like conditions have already been reported, and urgent action is required to prevent further suffering among innocent people.

Both countries expressed deep concern over the devastating humanitarian situation. They urged Israel and all parties involved to ensure safe access for aid convoys and medical teams. According to the statement, protecting civilians must remain the top priority in any response to the conflict.

Japan and Australia also highlighted their firm opposition to Israel's recently approved E1 settlement plan. The plan, if implemented, would divide the occupied West Bank into two disconnected areas, creating serious barriers to peace and stability.

The ministers warned that the E1 project would cut off northern Palestinian cities such as Ramallah and Nablus from Bethlehem and Hebron in the south. It would also further isolate East Jerusalem, making a future two-state solution more difficult to achieve.

In conclusion, both governments called for restraint, peace negotiations, and respect for international law. They stressed that military action cannot bring lasting stability, but dialogue, cooperation, and humanitarian support can pave the way toward peace.
