ISWAP Condemns Trump's Threat, Calls for Muslim Unity in West Africa

The Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) has reportedly criticized former U.S. President Donald Trump following his recent remarks about possible military intervention in Nigeria.

Trump, who had previously designated Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern, allegedly directed the U.S. Department of Defense to prepare for potential action over what he termed "genocide against Christians" in the country.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, who shared the information via his verified X (Twitter) account, the group issued a propaganda message in response through its usual communication networks.

In the message, ISWAP branded Trump a "reckless American tyrant," claiming he was influenced by "evangelical Christian and Jewish advisers" during his presidency. The group accused the U.S. of attempting to portray itself as the "global defender of Christians."

ISWAP also reportedly warned its members to avoid using smartphones, stay away from large gatherings, and restrict their movements for security reasons.

Concluding its statement, the extremist organization urged Muslims across West Africa to unite and take what it called the U.S. threat seriously, accusing Western nations of committing "crimes against Africans."
