Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has threatened to seize parts of Gaza if Hamas doesn't release the hostages it's holding. This threat comes after Israel resumed its military operations in Gaza, following a brief truce in January.

The renewed violence has resulted in the deaths of 830 people in Gaza, according to the health ministry. No Israeli casualties have been reported. The conflict began when Hamas launched an attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, killing 1,218 people.
Israel has been trying to pressure Hamas into releasing the remaining hostages. So far, 33 Israeli captives have been freed in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. However, talks on extending the truce have stalled.

Netanyahu warned that if Hamas persists in refusing to release the hostages, Israel will exert stronger pressure, including seizing territories. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant also stated that the more Hamas refuses to free the hostages, the more territory it will lose.
Hamas has responded to Netanyahu's threat, saying that every time Israel tries to retrieve its captives by force, it ends up bringing them back in coffins. The group claims it's doing everything possible to keep the Israeli captives alive.

The situation remains tense, with both sides refusing to back down. The conflict has sparked protests in Gaza, with hundreds of Palestinians demonstrating against Hamas and calling for an end to the war.
The international community has expressed concern over the escalating violence, with many calling for a ceasefire and a return to negotiations. However, a lasting resolution remains elusive.

The conflict has had a devastating impact on civilians in Gaza, with many struggling to access basic necessities like food, water, and shelter. The humanitarian situation is likely to worsen unless a peaceful resolution is found soon.
