Israel has announced plans to deliver emergency humanitarian aid to South Sudan, a nation currently facing serious health and resource challenges. The aid comes at a critical time as the country struggles with violent instability and widespread suffering among its population.

The declaration was made by Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, who explained that Israel is extending support due to the worsening humanitarian crisis in South Sudan. This announcement followed recent reports suggesting South Sudan might host displaced Palestinians from Gaza, a claim that South Sudanese authorities have firmly rejected.

According to the official statement, the humanitarian package will target urgent health and sanitation needs. Israel highlighted that South Sudan is battling a dangerous cholera outbreak while also dealing with severe shortages of clean water and medical supplies.

The aid shipment will include life-saving medical supplies, protective gloves, masks, hygiene kits, and advanced water purification equipment. In addition, food packages will be provided to help vulnerable families facing hunger and malnutrition. These measures are aimed at reducing disease spread and improving daily living conditions.

Israel's Deputy Foreign Minister, Sharren Haskel, reinforced the importance of the partnership during her recent official visit to Juba, South Sudan's capital. Her visit focused on strengthening ties and assessing on-the-ground needs.
