The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have announced the death of Muhammad Abd al-Aziz Abu Zubaida, described as the most senior ISIS figure operating in Gaza. According to the military, he was eliminated during a targeted strike in the Bureij area on Friday.

Officials explained that Abu Zubaida served as the head of the ISIS Palestine District, overseeing the group's strategy and directing its violent operations. He was said to be responsible for planning, policy decisions, and coordinating terror activities across Gaza, Judea, Samaria, and even the Sinai Peninsula.

The IDF further revealed that Abu Zubaida played a major role in transferring weapons, combat equipment, and funds into Gaza. His elimination is seen as a critical step in weakening ISIS's operational command and disrupting their networks across the region.

This strike comes just two days after the IDF confirmed the killing of Mahmoud al-Aswad, the Hamas General Security chief for West Gaza. Al-Aswad was described as a major intelligence figure who provided support for Hamas operations in the area.

At the same time, Israeli troops continued ground operations in Gaza City and Khan Yunis. The army stated that they are destroying terror infrastructure, including tunnels and weapons storage sites, as part of broader efforts to reduce militant strength.

The fighting has also taken a heavy toll on civilians and journalists. Reports confirm that at least 20 people, including media workers, were killed in recent airstrikes on al-Nasser Hospital. International rights groups have raised alarm over the growing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
