Greta Thunberg's Gaza Aid Boat Blocked by Israeli Navy

Israel has firmly stated it will stop a humanitarian aid boat carrying Greta Thunberg and other activists from reaching Gaza by sea. Defense Minister Israel Katz declared the country won't allow anyone to breach the naval blockade, which he says is meant to stop weapons from reaching Hamas.

The boat, named *Madleen*, is operated by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition. It set sail from Sicily with 12 peace activists onboard. Their goal is to deliver aid and raise global attention to Gaza's worsening humanitarian situation.

Greta Thunberg, known for her climate activism, is among those on board. The activists had hoped to enter Gaza's waters by Sunday, delivering supplies and showing support for civilians affected by the conflict.

Rima Hassan, a French lawmaker of Palestinian origin, is also sailing with the group. She's been barred from entering Israel because of her support for Palestinian rights and criticism of Israeli policies.

Israel recently eased its full blockade and now allows some aid, but groups warn this isn't enough. Humanitarian agencies are sounding alarms about potential famine if more help doesn't arrive soon and if the conflict continues.

Last month, another attempt by the same coalition ended when drones struck their ship in international waters near Malta. The group accuses Israel of that attack, which seriously damaged the vessel.
