The Grand Mosque Library in Makkah is now closed temporarily for renovation. This announcement was made on August 5, 2025. The library is located in the second Saudi expansion area, close to important prayer zones. The closure will help improve its structure and services for future use.

Saudi authorities said the goal is to make the library better for visitors, scholars, and worshippers. The upgrades will include better reading areas, easier access to information, and more digital resources. This project is part of a large plan to improve religious sites in the Kingdom.

The renovation is being handled by the General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque. They are working together to make sure the work goes smoothly without affecting the holy site's overall operations.

While the library is closed, researchers and visitors are advised to use other available options. These include digital platforms provided by the Presidency and library services at the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah.

The exact reopening date is not yet confirmed. It will depend on how fast the renovation work is completed. Authorities have promised to give updates on the progress regularly.

This renovation shows Saudi Arabia's commitment to preserving and improving Islamic knowledge centers. The Grand Mosque Library has always been a key learning spot, and the new upgrades will make it even more useful for generations to come.
