Ahmed Sharief Alameri, a renowned political analyst from the United Arab Emirates, has urged international and African leaders to unite against the rising wave of ethnic and religious violence in Nigeria. Writing on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account, Alameri condemned the targeting of communities based on faith, calling it a grave threat to justice and national unity.

He explained that the nature of recent attacks across parts of Nigeria shows a well-coordinated pattern influenced by extremist ideologies. According to him, violent groups such as Boko Haram exploit religion to gain control and spread fear, replacing harmony with hatred. He cautioned that global silence allows such extremism to thrive unchecked.

Alameri reminded the world that both Muslims and Christians in Nigeria have lived peacefully for generations, contributing immensely to education, agriculture, and national progress. He described their resilience as proof that true faith encourages coexistence and compassion, not destruction.

"The defence of peace in Nigeria," he wrote, "is a defence of human dignity itself. Every life saved strengthens the world's moral fabric." He urged the African Union, ECOWAS, and the United Nations to increase cooperation on peacebuilding and community security.

Meanwhile, Nigeria's Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, denied any state-sponsored religious persecution, insisting that terrorism affects citizens of all faiths. The government, he said, is reinforcing security operations to restore safety and unity across affected regions.

Analysts agree that Nigeria's path to lasting peace lies in renewed interfaith dialogue, stronger community leadership, and global solidarity. Protecting every life, regardless of belief, remains the key to building a just and harmonious society.
