Ibrahim Bello, the revered Emir of Gusau in Zamfara State, has passed away at the age of 71. He died on Friday in Abuja after a prolonged illness, leaving a significant void in the traditional leadership.

The sad news of his demise was officially confirmed by Sulaiman Idris, the spokesperson for Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal. The announcement brought widespread mourning across the state.

In an official statement, Governor Lawal expressed profound sadness, eulogizing the late Emir as a "dependable monarch." He lauded the Emir's tireless efforts towards fostering peace and progress within Zamfara State.

Governor Lawal shared his personal grief, stating, "I have lost a confidant and a father whose wisdom guides me and other state leaders. May the Almighty Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannah."

Appointed as the 16th Emir of Gusau in March 2015, following the death of his own father, Ibrahim Bello served for over a decade on the throne. His reign was marked by significant contributions to the state's socio-cultural fabric.

The passing of Emir Ibrahim Bello marks the end of an era for Gusau. His legacy of striving for peace and progress will undoubtedly be remembered by the people of Zamfara.
