Egypt has announced its readiness to participate in an international peacekeeping force for Gaza if it is supported by a United Nations Security Council resolution. Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty emphasized that such a mission must also come with a political framework that ensures real progress toward peace and stability in the region.

Speaking at the Rafah border crossing during a joint press conference with Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa, Abdelatty said Egypt is willing to contribute under specific parameters. He stressed that without a political horizon, deploying forces would be meaningless and ineffective for long-term peace.

Abdelatty highlighted that a clear political framework would help international forces operate more effectively while supporting Palestinians in their struggle for statehood. He said the ultimate goal should be to help Palestinians achieve their independent state within their homeland, in line with international law.

Palestinian Prime Minister Mustafa confirmed that a temporary committee would manage Gaza after the war, while full authority remains with the Palestinian government. He clarified that no new political entity is being created, but existing Palestinian institutions would be reactivated to govern Gaza.

Meanwhile, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held talks in Cairo with Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. Both leaders underlined the urgent need for a ceasefire, humanitarian aid delivery, and the release of hostages, while rejecting displacement or reoccupation of Gaza.

They also agreed on the importance of reconstruction efforts, calling for an international conference to rebuild Gaza in cooperation with the Palestinian government and the United Nations.
