The Muslim In National Development (MIND) Foundation, on Sunday, August 31, 2025, held its second annual Muslim First-Class Graduates Reception at the prestigious Radisson Blu Hotel, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos. The event celebrated the outstanding achievements of 87 Muslim graduates from different universities across Nigeria, highlighting the importance of academic excellence in national development.

The reception was not just a celebration but also a call to action for the graduates. Guest speakers at the event encouraged the awardees to maintain their high standards of learning while preparing for challenges beyond the classroom. The message emphasized that excellence must be combined with discipline, vision, and dedication to faith.

Hajia Hadiza Bala Usman, Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Strategy, delivered a keynote address urging graduates to build a culture of excellence rooted in their Islamic values. She congratulated them for emerging as the best in their institutions, but reminded them that the real test lies in applying knowledge to solve societal problems.

She further advised that the graduates should not only carry the pride of being first-class holders but also use their education to make meaningful contributions in every sphere of life. According to her, true success is combining academic brilliance with integrity and service to humanity.

In her remarks, Hajia Bala Usman, a former managing director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), also suggested a strategic initiative. She recommended that the MIND Foundation establish a public database of Muslim first-class graduates to connect them with career opportunities and professional networks.

The gathering was widely praised as an inspiring event that showcased the potential of Muslim youths to contribute meaningfully to the nation's growth. With guidance from leaders and access to opportunities, these graduates were encouraged to remain steadfast in their faith while using their knowledge to create lasting impact.
