The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has officially unveiled the 2026 Hajj fare structure, offering a significant reduction to support intending pilgrims. This year, fares are approximately 200,000 lower than the previous year, reflecting the government's commitment to making the sacred journey more affordable amid ongoing economic challenges.

Chairman and CEO of NAHCON, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, made the announcement following extensive consultations with key stakeholders, including the Forum of States leadership, and after receiving final approval from the Federal Government. The fare adjustments aim to ease financial pressures on pilgrims from all regions of Nigeria.

Under the new structure, pilgrims from the Maiduguri-Yola Zone, covering Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, and Taraba states, are required to pay ₦8,118,333.67. Those from other Northern states will pay ₦8,244,813.67, while Southern state pilgrims will remit ₦8,561,013.67. These rates mark a substantial saving for many intending pilgrims compared to 2025's fees.

In a statement, Prof. Saleh emphasized that the fare reduction was designed to ensure more Nigerians can fulfill their spiritual obligations without undue financial strain. "We remain committed to facilitating a seamless and spiritually rewarding Hajj experience for all pilgrims," he said.

Meanwhile, a NAHCON delegation currently in Saudi Arabia has successfully signed agreements with key Hajj service providers. Partnerships were formalized with Mashareeq Al-Zahabiyya, the designated Hajj service operator, and Daleel Al-Ma'aleem, responsible for transportation logistics, ensuring quality and safe services for pilgrims.

Prof. Saleh also reminded all intending pilgrims to complete their Hajj payments by 31st December 2025. Timely payment will guarantee proper processing, travel arrangements, and accommodation, ensuring a well-organized pilgrimage experience for all participants.
