The United Nations has raised urgent concern about the worsening situation in the occupied West Bank, where violence and attacks against Palestinians have sharply increased. According to new data, Israeli forces and illegal settlers are behind a dramatic rise in incidents leading to deaths, injuries, and destruction of Palestinian communities.

Speaking at a news conference, UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric cited findings from the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). He explained that since the beginning of the year, more than 2,780 Palestinians have been injured in clashes, raids, or assaults carried out by Israeli forces or settlers.

The data highlights a troubling trend when compared to last year's figures. The UN confirmed that this represents a 39 percent increase in Palestinian casualties, showing a clear pattern of escalation across different towns and villages in the West Bank.

Among those injured, nearly 500 Palestinians were harmed directly by Israeli settlers. This number alone marks a twofold increase compared to the same period last year. Such statistics underscore the growing role of settler violence in the ongoing crisis.

The UN has repeatedly warned that the combination of military raids, home demolitions, land seizures, and unchecked settler expansion is fueling instability. The rise in injuries and deaths not only threatens Palestinian lives but also makes prospects for peace and security even more fragile.

International observers and humanitarian organizations continue to call for urgent action, accountability, and stronger protection for Palestinian civilians facing daily violence in the occupied territories.
