Türkiye has strongly rejected Israeli media reports linking it to an alleged assassination plot against an Israeli minister. Officials in Ankara described the reports as part of a deliberate smear campaign targeting Türkiye's clear stance on Palestine.
According to Türkiye's Center for Combating Disinformation, the allegations are not new but connected to an incident that happened eight months ago. The center explained that Israeli outlets presented the story as a fresh case to mislead the public and create suspicion about Türkiye's role in regional affairs.
The statement also highlighted that those arrested in connection with the supposed plot had clearly confirmed that they had no ties with Türkiye. Red Cross officials verified these statements, further proving that Ankara was not involved in any way.
Türkiye believes that the real aim of spreading such news is to damage its image on the global stage. By associating Türkiye with terrorism and plots, the reports seek to weaken its diplomatic position and strong criticism of Israel's ongoing war on Gaza.
For months, Ankara has openly accused Israel of committing war crimes and genocide against Palestinians. Turkish leaders have also called for international courts to hold Israel accountable for its actions, while voicing strong support for Palestinian rights.
In its closing remarks, Ankara urged the global community and media consumers not to fall for disinformation campaigns. Instead, Türkiye reaffirmed that it will continue to stand firmly with the Palestinian people against oppression and injustice.
