Türkiye has dismissed claims suggesting it joined the Bogota Declaration due to public pressure. The Center for Combating Disinformation clarified that Türkiye's decision aligns with its consistent support for Palestine. Citizens are urged to trust only official sources as the government continues to act based on law and human rights.

Türkiye's Center for Combating Disinformation has firmly denied allegations that the country joined the Bogota Declaration in response to social media backlash. According to an official statement, such claims circulating online are nothing more than deliberate disinformation intended to mislead the public.

The disinformation in question alleges that Türkiye initially refused to sign the Hague Group's Bogota Declaration, then reversed its decision after public outrage. The government clarified that this is completely false and not supported by any factual timeline or diplomatic process.

Authorities stated that Türkiye's foreign policy decisions are guided by long-standing principles, international law, and national interests—not internet pressure or viral social narratives.

The government also emphasized Türkiye's firm and consistent support for the Palestinian cause. This position is deeply rooted in the nation's legal, humanitarian, and moral values.

As part of its commitment, Türkiye severed trade ties with Israel in May 2024 in protest of Israeli actions, reaffirming its stand with the Palestinian people.

In addition to political actions, Türkiye continues to provide humanitarian aid to Palestinians, including food, medicine, and other critical supplies through recognized international aid organizations.

Türkiye has also actively advocated for Palestinian rights on international platforms, including the United Nations and various regional alliances, consistently voicing the need for justice and peace.

The Center for Combating Disinformation urged all citizens to avoid falling for fake news or politically motivated narratives. Instead, they encouraged reliance on official channels and verified sources for updates on foreign policy matters.

The government concluded by affirming that Türkiye's foreign relations, especially regarding Palestine, are based on justice and national integrity—not rumors or public reaction.
