The Chief Imam of Lekki Central Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Jamiu Ridwan, has advised couples to uphold cleanliness, hard work, mutual respect, and gratitude as key pillars of a happy and lasting marriage. He gave the counsel during the Aqdu-n-Walimatun Nikaah between AbdulMajeed Orolade and Sherifat Oshoala, younger sister of Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala, on Saturday, August 9.

The solemnisation was conducted within the Lekki Central Mosque premises, with the reception held in the mosque hall. Family members, friends, and well-wishers attended the joyous occasion, celebrating the union in a warm and faith-filled atmosphere.

During the ceremony, Imam Jamiu sought and received the consent of both the bride and groom, as well as their parents. The agreed dowry, settled privately, was confirmed by witnesses before the Imam offered heartfelt prayers for Allah's blessings on the marriage.

In his marriage lecture, Imam Jamiu emphasized the importance of maintaining personal and domestic cleanliness, urging couples to avoid comparing their relationships or lifestyles with others, as this can lead to dissatisfaction and conflict.

The Imam reminded attendees that the primary purpose of human creation is to worship Allah, with other pursuits like education, work, and marriage serving as important but secondary needs.

He concluded by urging the newlyweds to make faith, mutual respect, hard work, and gratitude the foundation of their home, ensuring a peaceful, loving, and blessed marital life.
