Authorities in Paris have launched a serious investigation after pig heads were discovered outside several mosques in and around the French capital on Tuesday, September 9. The disturbing act has been widely condemned as an insult to Muslims, who consider pigs impure in their faith.

France is home to the largest Muslim population in Europe, with more than six million followers of Islam. The incident has therefore raised deep concerns about growing hostility and religious intolerance in the country. Many Muslims expressed feelings of pain and disrespect after learning about the attack.

Paris police chief Laurent Nunez confirmed the discoveries and stated that "everything is being done to find the perpetrators of these despicable acts." A police unit has opened a case for suspected incitement to hatred aggravated by discrimination.

According to officials, pig heads were found at the entrances of at least two mosques within Paris and one just outside the city. Another pig head was discovered inside a suitcase near a mosque in northern Paris. At one site, the word "Macron" was scrawled in blue, apparently referencing President Emmanuel Macron.

French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau strongly denounced the incidents, calling for peace and respect among all communities. He stressed, "I want our Muslim compatriots to be able to practice their faith in peace. I understand that they feel hurt."

The shocking events have sparked outrage across France, with many demanding stronger protection for religious sites. Authorities continue to investigate and have pledged to bring those responsible to justice.
