The Muslim Students' Society of Nigeria, Lagos State Area Unit, has congratulated Muslim students in Nigeria and worldwide on completing Ramadan and celebrating Eid-el-Fitr. In a statement, President Mal Kamoldeen Abiona urged Muslims to apply the virtues learned during Ramadan, such as perseverance and devotion, to their daily lives. He emphasized the importance of upholding these values in all endeavors, remaining steadfast in faith and conduct.
Abiona condemned the brutal killing of 16 innocent Muslims and licensed hunters in Edo, who were traveling to Kano for Eid celebrations, and called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators. He described the act as barbaric and a stark reminder of the increasing disregard for human life.

The MSSN President also expressed solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine, who continue to face persecution at the hands of the Zionist regime. He quoted a Hadith of Prophet Muhammad, saying, "Whoever is not concerned about the affairs of the Muslims is not among us." Abiona advocated for awareness, prayers, advocacy, and economic resistance to support Palestinian brothers and sisters.
He specifically called for a boycott of Israeli and allied products, stating that this could be a powerful tool in the struggle against injustice and oppression. The MSSN also condemned the Israeli military onslaught on Gaza, which has resulted in over 50,250 Palestinian deaths, mostly women and children, and more than 114,000 injuries since October 2023.

Furthermore, the Society urged governments in Southwestern Nigeria to establish a Shariah Court of Appeal alongside State High Courts and Customary Courts, as stipulated in Section 275 of the 1999 Nigerian Constitution. This, they believe, would address the current hurdles in implementing this constitutional right.
The MSSN commiserated with the Muslim Ummah on the passing of notable scholars and intellectuals, including Ustadh AbdurRahman Lekki, Sheikh Muideen Ajani Bello, and Professor Murtala Bidmus, among others. They prayed for Allah's forgiveness and grant of Al-Jannah Firdaus to these individuals.

In conclusion, Abiona encouraged Muslims to extend love, kindness, and charity to those around them, praying that Allah accepts their ibadah, blesses their efforts, and keeps them steadfast in faith. The MSSN, established in 1954, aims to promote Islamic identity and values among Nigerian Muslim students, and its activities have contributed significantly to national development and unity.
