London Protesters Demand UK Lift Ban On Palestine Action Group

Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in central London to call on the British government to end its ban on the activist group Palestine Action. The rally, held at Parliament Square, highlighted growing public anger over the crackdown on pro-Palestinian activism in the UK.

Protesters carried Palestinian flags and placards, chanting powerful slogans such as "Over 100,000 dead and you are arresting us instead" and "Resisting genocide is not a crime." Many banners expressed solidarity with Gaza and opposition to government policies that criminalize dissent.

The rally was organized by Defend Our Juries, which revealed earlier in the week that more than 1,000 supporters had pledged to attend. The large turnout reflected a wider movement demanding freedom of expression for those who criticize Israeli actions and stand with Palestine.

During the protest, Metropolitan Police officers made several arrests, continuing a pattern from last month when over 500 people were detained at a similar demonstration. Critics say such measures silence legitimate political voices and intensify anger among campaigners.

The controversy began in July when the UK government outlawed Palestine Action under the 2000 Terrorism Act. Since then, many pro-Palestinian activists have faced arrest simply for holding signs or expressing support for the group. Human rights campaigners argue the move is a dangerous step toward criminalizing peaceful protest.

Calls are now mounting for the government to reverse the ban, restore civil liberties, and respect the rights of people to demonstrate against war, occupation, and the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
