The Palestinian resistance group, Hamas, has issued a powerful global call for action. In response to Israel's continued aggression in Gaza, Hamas is urging people everywhere to escalate protests from August 1st to 3rd. The group is calling on the international community to raise its voice against what they describe as Zionist genocide and starvation policies targeting over two million civilians in Gaza.

In their Tuesday statement, Hamas designated Sunday, August 3, as a Global Day of Support for Gaza, Jerusalem, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and Palestinian Prisoners. The day will also honor former Hamas leader, Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated in Tehran by Israeli forces on July 31, 2024. Haniyeh had previously proposed August 3 as a day of global solidarity before his death.

Hamas is asking people around the world to organize massive marches and protests in cities and capitals. These demonstrations aim to expose and oppose the ongoing Israeli occupation, blockade, and violence against Palestinian civilians, including women, children, and the elderly.

The movement calls for sit-ins and protests in front of Zionist, American, and pro-occupation embassies worldwide. This non-violent pressure is meant to draw international attention to the crisis in Gaza and push for immediate humanitarian intervention.
