Title: Hamas Proposes Technocrat Government For Gaza While Awaiting Israel
Post by: Abdulrahmon Mubarak on Sep 05, 2025, 03:38 AM
The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has announced that it has agreed to the formation of an independent technocrat administration to manage the affairs of Gaza. This step is seen as part of ongoing efforts to create a political solution while awaiting Israel's official response to a proposal presented by international mediators.

In a public statement, Hamas confirmed that it accepted the mediators' proposal on August 18. However, the group made it clear that Israel has yet to respond. Hamas emphasized that its position remains focused on achieving a full and fair deal to end the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza.

The proposed agreement includes the release of all Israeli captives in return for an agreed number of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli prisons. Hamas stressed that such a deal would bring a major breakthrough in addressing humanitarian and political issues that have long fueled the conflict.

Another central point in the plan is the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza. The proposal also calls for reopening all border crossings, ensuring the entry of vital humanitarian aid, and starting urgent reconstruction projects to rebuild destroyed homes, schools, and hospitals.

Hamas explained that its acceptance of a technocrat-led administration is aimed at providing a clear answer to the "day after" question often raised by Israeli officials. The group argued that such a move proves Gaza can be governed responsibly without ongoing occupation.

Meanwhile, Israeli media reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, facing legal challenges internationally, has shifted his position. Reports suggest he is now seeking a broader comprehensive deal rather than a partial agreement.
