A volunteer aboard the Freedom Flotilla Coalition's "Thousands of Madleens" convoy has urged the international community to unite in support of Palestinians as the mission sails toward Gaza.

Leigh Evans, an emergency nurse and paramedic from Wales, shared her message with Anadolu from the vessel Abd Elkarim Eid. She explained that the flotilla aims to open a humanitarian corridor into Gaza and "end the unlawful Israeli blockade," while delivering essential aid to those in desperate need.

"My message to the world is: rise up and go to Palestine," Evans said. "And if you can't, then pressure your government to act. Governments are meant to serve the people — not the other way around."
